Technology Solar Direct’s evacuated tube collector provides high energy yields and long life expectancy. It is produced from top quality materials and components. Hailstone impact tested in accordance to EN12975-2 and thermal shock tested by ITW testing makes it one of the best systems in the marketplace. The vacuum insulation and the CPC (Compound parabolic concentrator) reflector give a high all year round, all weather performance suited to Irish weather.

The Manifold A series of evacuated solar tubes are installed into an insulted header manifold and sensor pockets are provided on the manifold for simple controller operation.
The Reflectors To increase the output of the evacuated tube collector, a highly reflective CPC reflector is fitted behind the evacuated tubes. The geometry of the reflector makes sure that the direct and diffused solar radiation lands on the absorber even when the angle of incidence is not perfect. This considerably improves the energy yield of the solar collector.
The Solar Tube Manufactured from borosilicate glass (Pyrex glass) the solar tube has excellent performance and geometry. The evacuated tunnel consists of two connectives glass tubes that are sealed in a circular shape and hermetically joined together.

The internal glass tube is coated with a highly absorbent layer; the coating is protected against adverse weathering influence with two vacuum spaces. The aluminium spatter coating used, has extremely low emission and excellent absorption.
